Chrome releases new version and patches critical flaws

Take action: Time for another round of updates for your Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave. Fortunately, still not actively exploited by hackers, but don't delay. The patch is very easy and it takes just a moment.

Google has released the Chrome 126 update 126.0.6478.114/115 for Windows, Mac and 126.0.6478.114 for Linux, addressing two critical and two high severity flaws.

  • CVE-2024-6102 (CVSS score 9.6) out-of-bounds memory access flaw in Dawn
  • CVE-2024-6103 (CVSS score 9.8) use-after-free flaw in Dawn
  • CVE-2024-6100 (CVSS score 8.8) type confusion issue within the V8 JavaScript engine
  • CVE-2024-6101 (CVSS score 8.8) inappropriate implementation in WebAssembly

Google has not disclosed technical details for these issues and has indicated that none of these vulnerabilities have been exploited in the wild.

Users are advised to update their Chrome and Chromium based browsers.
