Samsung Mobile has released a September 2023 security patch for Galaxy phones and tablets, addressing 62 bugs, with 27 fixes from Google and 35 from Samsung, including:
- 4 critical,
- 19 high,
- 2 moderate,
- 2 low-priority security issues.
This release coincides with the official Google Android patch, pointing to Samsung putting a priority in patching of these issues.
Initially available for the S series, the update will extend to other devices, addressing security flaws in features like Samsung Keyboard, Dual Messenger, Phone and Messaging Storage, Settings, One UI Home, Weather, WiFi, and Hotspot.
Samsung assures that all mentioned applications and features are now secure and commits to resolving any remaining bugs in future updates.
The September 2023 security patch may soon become available for premium devices such as the Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, Z Flip 3, Z Flip 4, Z Flip 5, Z Fold 3, Z Fold 4, and Z Fold 5.
Samsung has ceased software support for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ after four years of updates, with most of the patched vulnerabilities in Google's software.
