Allcare Medical Management, Inc. (“Allcare”) is reporting a data breach following the discovery that sensitive information of patients from Family Planning Associates Medical Group, Inc. (“FPA Women’s Health”) had been compromised due to a cybersecurity incident.

Allcare Medical Management, Inc., based in San Bernardino, California, offers a variety of practice management services to healthcare providers, including billing management, accounts receivable, payroll, and bookkeeping.

The breach was detected when Allcare noticed suspicious activity in its email system. An investigation, supported by external cybersecurity experts, confirmed on May 23, 2024, that an unauthorized party had accessed an employee's email account between March 4, 2024, and April 20, 2024. This unauthorized access exposed confidential information contained within the email account.

The exposed data includes:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Contact information
  • Dates of birth
  • Medical record numbers
  • Health insurance information
  • Medical information

The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.

On July 22, 2024, Allcare began notifying affected individuals by mail, detailing what specific information of theirs was compromised.
