Arla Foods reports cyberattack causing disruption at German production facility

Danish food corporation Arla Foods is reporting it was targeted by a cyberattack that has disrupted its production operations. 

The incident affected the company's production unit in Upahl, Germany, but the impact is expected to extend to product delivery schedules across the company's distribution network. The company implemented mitigation measures which caused a temporary halt in production processes at the affected facility.

The company has indicated that recovery efforts are underway, with normal operations expected to resume at the impacted facility within days of the incident. According to an Arla spokesperson: "We expect to return to normal operations at the site in the next few days." The company has emphasized that production capabilities at other Arla facilities remain unaffected by this security breach.

The nature of the attack, any exposed data or number of affected individuals are not disclosed. 

As of the reporting date, no claims of responsibility have appeared on known ransomware gangs.
