The breach occurred at the Australian tech company OutABox, which provides gaming and hospitality products to several Clubs NSW venues.
The breach is caused by disgruntled offshore developers for OutABox, who claimed they had not been compensated for over a year. In retailiation they accessed the back-end systems of various gaming venues and published the data on a website named haveibeenoutaboxed.com
The compromised data includes:
- drivers' licenses,
- signatures,
- club membership details,
- home addresses,
- birthdays,
- phone numbers,
- club visit timestamps,
- slot machine usage.
OutABox has acknowledged the breach and is actively cooperating with law enforcement to investigate the matter. They have notified the relevant authorities and are working to resolve the issue swiftly.
