Learn More
Atlas Oil, one of the largest national fuel distributors in the U.S., has reportedly fallen victim to a significant data breach orchestrated by the Black Basta ransomware group. The breach supposedly involves the theft of approximately 730GB of sensitive data, including corporate information and personal data of employees.
The attack was confirmed by a series of disclosures on the Tor leak site maintained by the Black Basta group. The hackers provided documents as proof, including:
- ID cards
- Data sheets
- Payroll payment requests
- Images of exfiltrated folders.
Atlas Oil has not commented on the claims. The data leak has been reported on Black Basta’s Tor leak site, indicating the ransomware group’s intention to expose the stolen information if their demands are not met.
