Swiss online retailer Brack.ch is alerting its customers about possible data theft following reports circulating on the internet. According to posts on a hacker forum, user data from potentially more than 2.4 million people may have been compromised.

Brack.ch has confirmed awareness of these allegations so far has not been able to verify the claims. Lukas Keller, media spokesperson for Brack.ch, explained that verifying such claims independently would require paying money to potential hackers, which the company is not willing to do. "Our IT experts are currently checking whether there is any truth to the claims," Keller stated.

The company and its security experts currently suspect that what's being offered on the hacker forum may be a "combined list" containing data from multiple platforms and online retailers, not exclusively from Brack.ch.

Brack.ch has not disclosed specific information about what types of customer data might have been compromised nor any identified vectors of attack.

As a precautionary measure, тhe company sent email notifications on Monday 7th of April informing customers of the potential security breach and is recommending that all customers change their passwords for Brack.ch, update passwords on other online platforms and activate voluntary 2-factor authentication where available.
