The blockchain platform Casper Network has suspended all operations due to a security incident. The decision to halt activities was made collaboratively by the Casper Network team, Casper Association, CasperLabs, and network validators to prevent exploitation of a vulnerable opcode.

Preliminary data indicates that the attack affected several large accounts only. While the specifics and extent of the damage are still being evaluated, Casper Network has assured users that all necessary measures have been taken to protect accounts and prevent further incidents.

Upon discovering the breach, validators quarantined transactions at block 3,329,418 during era 14544, effectively suspending all network activities such as transfers, minting, and staking. This measure aims to prevent further malicious activities while the vulnerability is addressed.

Casper Network claims that the breach is under investigation but not widespread. It's unclear The team has committed to preparing a comprehensive post-mortem report and will share any necessary code changes on their GitHub page once the issue is resolved.
