The breach was first brought to Welltok's attention on July 26th, regarding a potential earlier compromise of their MOVEit Transfer server. Following this alert, Welltok conducted a more thorough investigation aided by third-party experts and additional information that emerged later.
The true extent of the breach was only understood on November 7th, when Welltok determined the range of data present on the server at the time of the breach. The compromised data include:

- dates of birth,
- clinical details,
- patient IDs,
- health insurance information
