The City of Huber Heights fell victim to a ransomware attack on Sunday morning, 12th of November. The attack is confirmed by City Manager Rick Dzik.

The cyber incident, which took place at 8:13 a.m local time., affected several municipal departments including

  • Zoning,
  • Engineering,
  • Tax,
  • Finance,
  • Utilities,
  • Human Resources,
  • Economic Development.

Fortunately, Public Safety Services remained fully functional.

The city's IT team is actively collaborating with authorities at multiple levels to assess the damage and extent of the breach. While Public Safety Services continue to operate normally, disruptions to other city services are anticipated to last for the remainder of the week.
