Clorox, a prominent cleaning product company, has taken multiple systems offline and alerted law enforcement due to an incident of unauthorized activity in their Information Technology (IT) systems. They have also implemented workarounds for certain offline operations to ensure customer service continuity.

This cybersecurity incident has resulted in disruptions to specific parts of the company's business operations. Clorox has engaged a cybersecurity firm to aid in the recovery process, and their investigation is currently ongoing and in its initial stages.

Clorox's has previously reported that its informational and operational technology systems may be “vulnerable to …ransomware, unauthorized access attempts, business email compromise, cyber extortion, denial of service attacks, phishing, social engineering, hacking and other cyberattacks attempting to exploit vulnerabilities" and noted that the transition to remote work has led to an escalation in the frequency of such attacks.
