Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Scurry County, Texas, was impacted by a cybersecurity incident that disrupted their computer network, limiting system access and telephone functionality.

This hospital is crucial for the community, operating 70 beds and offering an array of services as a Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic in a remote region which had a population of 16,932 as of the 2020 census.

The hospital took action by disconnecting from the network and managed to sustain most routine services.

The Lorenz extortion group claims responsibility for this cyberattack and uploaded the hospital's data onto their Tor leak site. They claimed the theft of over 400GB of data, including sensitive patient medical images and staff communications.
