CoxHealth revealed that the breach may have affected more than 203,000 patients in the Ozarks region through IntelliHartx LLC (ITx), although the actual number of impacted individuals is yet to be confirmed.

The cyberattack specifically targeted ITx's Fortra's Go Anywhere file transfer software, which is used for sharing large files over the internet.

The breach is potentially compromising sensitive patient information such as

  • names,
  • addresses,
  • dates of birth,
  • social security numbers.

Patients have received a letter from Intellihartx, a company based in Tennessee, informing them that their personal information collected at CoxHealth may have been compromised.
