The university first detected the cyberattack on October 31. The Black Suit ransomware gang claimed responsibility for the attack, alleging to have stolen 214 GB of data from the university. The cyberattack became apparent on November 1 when campus internet services were disrupted, affecting access to email, printers, and the university network.
The university is collaborating with federal law enforcement and cybersecurity professionals to examine the breach.
