Enzo Biochem, based in Farmingdale, New York, has reported a data breach of their network.
The breach has exposed in which the clinical test data of approximately 2.5 million patients as well as the Social Security numbers of about 600,000 individuals.
The breach was discovered following a ransomware attack on April 6, prompting the company to disconnect components of it's network from the internet, engage third-party experts for investigation, and notify law enforcement.
The company is now evaluating the full impact of the incident, and it plans to notify affected individuals and regulatory authorities as required by law.
