This cybersecurity incident was a direct result of unauthorized access to Infosys McCamish Systems, which provides IT support to various life insurers, including Fidelity Investments Life.

The compromised information likely includes policyholders:

  • names,
  • Social Security numbers,
  • states of residence,
  • bank account
  • bank routing numbers (for those who have provided such information for premium payments),
  • dates of birth.

Fidelity claims that their Investments' mutual fund business and systems were not impacted by this attack.

In response to this breach, Fidelity Investments Life has started notifying affected policyholders and is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and identity theft response services to help mitigate potential damages. Meanwhile, Infosys McCamish Systems, part of the larger Bangalore-based Infosys Ltd., is conducting an investigation into the incident but has yet to determine the full extent of the accessed personal information.
