Charlotte-based AvidXchange has reported that 7,000 customers informing them of a cybersecurity attack that began in March.
AvidXchange is a financial technology (FinTech) company that specializes in providing accounts payable and payment automation solutions for businesses.
The breach took place on March 2, 2023. AvidXchange detected the breach in early April through routine security monitoring, and in May, they discovered that the bank account information of potentially thousands of customers had been exposed.
While there is no evidence of identity theft or fraud, the breached data included confidential information:
- Financial account numbers,
- credit/debit card information,
- PINs,
- passcodes
