The French Pension Insurance (Caisse Nationale d'Assurance Vieillesse - CNAV) recently experienced a major cyberattack that compromised the personal data of approximately 370,000 individuals. The attack targeted an online portal used by social action service providers for retirees.
Following the breach, the stolen data was listed for sale on a hacking forum. CNAV has taken the compromised portal offline and notified the National Commission on Informatics and Liberty (CNIL). Affected individuals will be informed about the breach.
The breached information includes:

- Social Security numbers,
- Approximate income levels.
CNAV clarified that the compromised data was largely outdated, with some records relating to deceased individuals.
