The insurance company Geico has confirmed that their data transfer software, MOVEit, was compromised in a cyber attack that began in June.

The breach affected employee information, prompting Geico to issue a letter to employees about the security issues and advising credit freeze as a precaution.

Geico's Chief Information Security Officer suggested employees freeze their credit, although this will not affect the company's customers. Geico acknowledged the breach but stated that customer data remained unaffected.

Geico hasn't provided any details about the number of affected individuals nor the data exposed in the breach.
