Gentex reports data breach caused by Dunghill ransomware gang

Gentex Corporation, a military contractor has confirmed that it experienced a data breach several months ago due to an attack by the Dunghill ransomware gang exposing customer and employee data.

The exact timing of the breach is not reported and the breach was not publicly disclosed until recently. The ransomware group claimed responsibility for the breach and provided a link to a Tor site allegedly containing 5 TB of sensitive corporate data, including employee information and client documents.

Gentex acknowledged the breach and stated that it had communicated with the affected parties, assuring that the incident did not impact its operations. The Dunghill group announced that they made the stolen data publicly available on the dark web and shared it with manufacturers from China, India, and the U.S.
