On August 23, 2025, Internet Rimon, an Israeli internet service provider specializing in filtered internet services for the religious and ultra-Orthodox Jewish (haredi) communities, was hit by a cyberattack. Tens of thousands of customers reported severe disruptions in service, ranging from partial to complete disconnection from the network.

The attack was claimed by an Iranian hacker group calling itself "Promised Revenge". The attackers allegedly deleted more than 500 terabytes of data from the company's servers and disrupted online activities across Israel for over ten hours.

The hackers released a video in which they claimed in real time to hack Rimon computers. The group is asserting that they had accessed internal documents proving Rimon's involvement in surveillance activities.

The hacker group claims to have accessed:

  • Internal company documents
  • Surveillance data on users, particularly Palestinians
  • Sensitive infrastructure information
  • More than 500 terabytes of company data (allegedly deleted)

The number of affected individuals and the nature of the attack are not disclosed.

According to Rimon, "at this stage there are no indications that personal customer information has been leaked," and the group has not yet presented evidence of information theft. The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.

As a defensive measure, Rimon preemptively disconnected its infrastructure from the global network to prevent further damage. This resulted in some customers being completely cut off from internet access while others experienced severe service interruptions. Rimon's services were down, and support limited to a recorded line (*8900) and Facebook updates. Its websites, including subsidiaries Etrog and NetFiber, were also offline.
