Hacker IntelBroker leaks alleged Cognizant Insurance Model Office for OIPA data

The threat actor IntelBroker is claiming a breach of Cognizant via a leak of supposed data set on BreachForums. Cognizant is a multinational technology company that provides IT services, including digital, technology, consulting, and operations services.
Per the claims, Cognizant experienced a data breach in June 2024 leading to the exposure of a significant volume of data from its "Insurance Model Office for OIPA" database. The breach allegedly compromised data of approximately 40,000 users and included 12 million lines of data from Cognizant’s internal site.
The exposed data reportedly includes detailed information such as:
- Client names
- Policy numbers
- Role codes
- Company codes
- State codes
- Role sequence numbers
- Arrangement numbers and statuses
- Start and end dates/years
- Draft days
- Modal amounts
- Next bill extract dates
- Next premium due dates
- Role payment modes
The nature of the attack is not disclosed.
IntelBroker has made the data available on BreachForums, where it can be accessed using credits earned by contributing to the platform. A sample of the data has been posted as proof of the breach.
As of now, Cognizant has not publicly acknowledged the June 2024 breach. Cyber Daily has reached out to Cognizant for comments on the incident.
