The Qilin ransomware group claimed responsibility for the breach on September 25, 2025 and posted alleged screenshots of stolen files to pressure the organization into paying a ransom. The group threatened to sell or leak the data if the healthcare provider did not meet their demands.
The types of exposed data and number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
Hale Makua reported the incident to authorities on October 29, 2025. The current filing lists a placeholder of 500 affected individuals. The organization is conducting an internal investigation to identify the extent of the compromise.
