Multiple stores affiliated with the JD Group South Aftica have experienced a data breach exposing customer data.

The data breach was noted after a user on a hacking forum claimed they had access to the record of 500 000 JD Group customers and 67 000 Everyshop customers.

JD Group clarify that the attackers gained access to a database containing customer ID numbers, names, and contact numbers, but no financial information.

JD Group has urged customers to remain cautious and vigilant, as cybercriminals may exploit the compromised data for further attacks.

While JD Group is taking immediate action to investigate and mitigate the breach, customers are advised to monitor their transactions, change passwords regularly with complex configurations, beware of phishing attempts, stay updated with official announcements, avoid clicking suspicious links, and provide personal information only when necessary.
