Kisco Senior Living, a company that manages 25 senior living communities across the United States, experienced a significant data breach around June 6th 2023. Kisco has engaged cybersecurity experts to investigate the breach's extent and source and to review the potentially affected data.
The ransomware group BlackByte claimed responsibility for the attack. Kisco has reported the incident to the FBI and is cooperating with any investigative efforts to hold the responsible parties accountable.
This breach potentially exposed the names and Social Security numbers of over 26,000 individuals, including residents of its facilities.
The potentially affected individuals by the breach were identified by April 9th 2024. The company is offering all potentially affected individuals 12 months of free credit monitoring and dark web monitoring, a $1 million identity fraud loss reimbursement policy, identity theft recovery services, and 90-day access to a call center to address any concerns arising from the breach.
