Kyocera AVX exposed as collateral ransomware victim after Fujitsu data breach in december

Kyocera AVX, a global electronics manufacturer providing services to military, industrial and automotive industries, has reportedly had its data posted on the dark web blog of ransomware gang LockBit.

The breach is believed to be a result of a supply chain attack stemming from a cyberattack on Japanese tech giant Fujitsu last year. Fujitsu admitted to being attacked in December after being informed by the police of an intrusion. The attack allowed outside access to emails set through a Fujitsu-based email system.

LockBit has set a deadline of June 9 for an unspecified ransom payment, warning that failure to comply will result in the publication of all available data. Kyocera AVX, along with several other Japanese companies, was affected by the attack.
