Ledger customers impacted by third party breach on Global-e

Learn More

Cryptocurrency wallet Ledger reports to customers that hackers broke into Global-e, a company that handles payments for Ledger.

Global-e manages checkouts and taxes for many big stores. Because the system stores order facts, the hackers could see customer records.

Ledger claims that their own network and hardware are still safe. The breach hit people who bought items on Ledger.com through Global-e, which acts as a Merchant of Record.

The exposed data includes:

  • Full names
  • Contact info like email addresses
  • Order history and transaction metadata

The number of affected individuals is not disclosed, but Ledger claims they are making sure Global-e contacts everyone affected.

Ledger claims that neither them nor Global-e have access to 24-word seed phrases or private keys of users, so the wallets and funds are safe. Ledger warned that hackers might use the stolen emails for phishing attacks, to try to trick users into giving up their secret phrases to steal digital assets.
