Medibase Group, Inc. is a healthcare software company based in Woodstock, Georgia. It offers software solutions, technical assistance, and business office solutions to hospitals, health systems, and integrated delivery networks across the United States.
The incident occurred on January 26, 2024. Medibase secured its systems, notified law enforcement, and worked with data security specialists to investigate the breach. The breach targeted Medibase's IT network, allowing an unauthorized party to access sensitive consumer information, which included:
- Names
- Social Security numbers
- Dates of birth
- Admit and discharge dates
- Outstanding balance amounts
- Insurance information
The nature of the attack and the number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
Medibase notified Staten Island University Hospital on May 8, 2024 and on July 5, 2024 sent data breach notification letters to all individuals affected by the incident.
