Auckland-based IT services firm Lantech has confirmed being targeted in a cyberattack.

The company is reporting that its vOffice platform was impacted and a limited number of customers affected. Lantech has engaged external specialists and is cooperating with relevant government agencies while working with customers and the office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Although one of the most prominent Lantech's customers is Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz), FENZ states that "We can confirm all Fire and Emergency systems are operational.”

However both parties declined to comment on the cyberattack and whether the attack impacted , and FENZ declined to provide details whether their IT systems are unaffected. No details about number of impacted customers or data breach is available.

It's also worth noting that there was no transparent reporting of the incident from Lantech until an anonymous tip-off to the New Zealand Herald which then reached out to Lantech for statement.
