OrthoAlaska reported a data breach, after realizing an unauthorized intrusion had compromised sensitive data under their care.
OrthoAlaska’s notification confirmed that an external entity had unauthorized access to personal data of their consumers. Once the breach was fully investigated, OrthoAlaska promptly started the process of informing those affected through breach notification letters.
OrthoAlaska doesn't provide details about the attack, and only describes the breach as caused by a “Hacking/IT incident” targeting a network server. The data of approximately 176,203 individuals was exposed.
