The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in the Philippines reports that it is investigating claims of a significant data breach allegedly perpetrated by a hacktivist group known as #HappyGoLuckyPH.

According to cybersecurity advocacy organization Deep Web Konek, the hackers infiltrated DILG's internal network and stole approximately 400 gigabytes of sensitive government data. The hacktivist group posted screenshots claiming to show direct access to DILG databases, including over 113,000 stored files used for local government unit operations.

The compromised data reportedly includes files from DILG's Gender and Development (GAD) document management system and multiple internal platforms. Early verification by Deep Web Konek suggested the leaked information resembles genuine operational material based on naming conventions, file structure, and domain sources visible in download panels. The exposed data types include:

  • Internal reports and correspondence
  • Government templates and forms
  • Budget documents and financial records
  • Administrative files
  • Local government unit reporting and planning documentation

The number of affected individuals and the nature of the attack have not been disclosed.

DILG is investigating the incident with government cybersecurity units and agencies. The department claims that initial checks show their core services remain stable, and urged the public not to rely on unverified posts.
