Qilin ransomware gang claims breach and data theft from Sydney-based Galvatech

The Qilin ransomware group has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack against Galvatech, an Australian galvanised steel provider based in Sydney. According to information posted on Qilin's darknet leak site on April 9, the threat actors allegedly exfiltrated 11 gigabytes of company data, comprising more than 23,000 files.

As evidence of the breach, the ransomware gang has published several internal documents reportedly stolen from Galvatech, including:

  • Email correspondence
  • A costing report
  • Various retail receipts
  • An internal training document containing employee signatures

No other details about the breach or number of affected individuals have been disclosed.

Galvatech has not issued a public response regarding the alleged breach. Cyber Daily reports that they have reached out to Galvatech for comment but have not received a response at the time of publication.
