Researchers at the New Delhi-based nonprofit organization, CyberPeace, have reported a potential data breach incident involving LenDenClub, a prominent peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform in India.
The breach potentially impacts around 22 million users with their ID and loan statements data, with threat actors claiming to have obtained 84 GB of compromised data. The hackers claim to have stolen the data around 25th of December 2023.
CyberPeace has published screenshots of the hackers claims on Twitter.
LenDenClub has not commented or confirmed the attack.
The identity of the perpetrators behind this data breach is undetermined, with ongoing investigations aimed at ascertaining whether the breach was orchestrated by a sophisticated cybercriminal group, hacktivists, or other malicious entities.
