Roys of Wroxham, one of Norfolk's largest independent retail chains, is facing disruption after falling victim to a suspected ransomware attack that has affected its IT systems and caused problems in stores.

The technical problems are leading to a delay in dispatching online orders.

The company is conducting a comprehensive forensic investigation to determine the extent of the incident and assess any potential data impact. While in-store services are still operational with minor disruptions, online customers will experience delays in receiving their orders.

At this moment there are no details of the attack nor impacted data or  individuals

Roys reassures its customers and suppliers that their data is secure, stating that no financial information related to customers is stored and thus unaffected by the incident. The company is collaborating with third-party specialists in its investigation.

Roys operates multiple retail businesses, including a department store, food hall, garden center, DIY shop, and toy shop, with locations in Hoveton, North Walsham, Thetford, Dereham, Beccles, Bowthorpe, and Magdalen Street in Norwich.
