Stalkerware App Spyzie breached, over 500K people exposed

A data breach affecting the stalkerware application Spyzie has been discovered, exposing sensitive personal information from hundreds of thousands of Android and iPhone users. This is the third breached stalkerware app in a matter of weeks that share similar infrastructure and source code. Previously Cocospy and Spyic, were breached in February 2025.

Stalkerware applications are typically marketed as parental monitoring tools but are often installed without the device users' knowledge or consent to spy on others. These applications are distributed outside of official app stores like Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Cybersecurity researcher identified a vulnerability that enabled unauthorized access to the applications' servers. This breach has compromised the data of more than 510,000 Android users and approximately 4,900 iPhone and iPad users. The exposed personal information includes:

  • Email addresses used for registration
  • Text messages
  • Call logs
  • Photographs

The operators of Spyzie have not responded to media inquiries regarding the security vulnerabilities,

To check whether your device has such spyware:

  • On Android devices, enter ✱✱001✱✱ on the phone keypad and pressing "call" can reveal the hidden apps
  • Check installed apps through Android Settings menu
  • For iOS users, review connected devices and implement two-factor authentication
