The data of 55 million Thai citizens' personal data has been published on the website "9near.org". The compromised data originated from vaccine registration records on a national database, potentially linked to the Public Health Ministry’s Immunization Centre in Thailand.
The stolen data encompassed various personal identifiable information (PII) including:
- Full names
- Dates of birth
- Identity documents
- ID card numbers
- Phone numbers
Approximately 55 million Thai citizens were affected by this breach. Specific details regarding the method or motive behind the attack remain undisclosed.
In response to this breach, the Digital Economy and Society (DES) Ministry of Thailand is actively working to identify and prosecute the individual(s) responsible for the data hack. Additionally, measures have been taken to block the web address of "9near.org" to prevent further sharing of the information, especially across dark web platforms.
