Truliant Federal Credit Union is reporting a data breach caused by a former third-party vendor, affecting the personal information of over 48,000 individuals. The breach was identified in February 2024. No details are available about the third party vendor or the type of breach that hit them.

The data exposed in the breach includes:

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Account numbers

The credit union clarified that the breach did not compromise passwords or PINs.  The breach has been reported to the relevant authorities, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Truliant has also informed the affected individuals and provided them with information on steps they can take to protect themselves from potential identity theft or fraud. This includes offering free credit monitoring services for the affected individuals.
