Learn More
Owens Group, a Welsh trucking company, has fallen victim to a ransomware attack that led to the leak of its sensitive corporate data on the Lockbit ransomware group dark web site.
The compromised data of Owens included:
- financial information,
- budgets,
- cash flow,
- balance sheets,
- tax returns,
- project calculations
- bank statements;
- client addresses,
- client phone numbers,
- client payment information
- contracts;
- employees’ personal information
- passport scans
- employment contracts.
The appearance of Owens' data online suggests the ransom was likely not paid. He speculated the ransom demand was probably between £1 million and £2 million (equivalent to about $1.2 million to $2.5 million).
Owens Group has not disclosed the number of affected individuals nor the nature of the attack that caused the breach.
