The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced that one of its partners, Disability Rights Wisconsin (DRW), experienced a security incident potentially compromising the protected health information of 19,150 Wisconsin Medicaid members.
The breach was identified after suspicious activity was detected on a DRW email account. DHS and DRW are conducting an ongoing investigation.
No details are disclosed about types of data exposed in the breach.
On June 21, 2024, DRW began mailing notifications to affected Medicaid members. These members are being offered free credit monitoring for one year and have access to a dedicated call center.
