The Akron-Summit County Public Library is currently investigating a ransomware incident that caused outages in their electronic services.
The library has taken immediate action to secure their systems after detecting the attack on Tuesday morning, including shutting down/taking offline thier systems.
There are no details published as to the impact to data or library patrons.
The library has also engaged external cybersecurity experts for assistance and is gradually bringing back online some services as of Thursday 1st June.
