Akumin, a radiology provider based in Plantation, Florida, recently had to temporarily halt most of its clinical and diagnostic operations due to a ransomware attack. The attack was discovered on October 11, prompting Akumin to shut down systems to prevent further damage and to investigate the extent of the breach.

This incident has left Akumin unable to provide services to patients at its fixed-site locations. While the company is working diligently to restore its systems in a safe and secure manner, it has not been able to provide an estimated timeline for when services will resume fully.
