API Financial Solutions, primarily offering payroll, human resources, hiring services, and employee benefits services, extends its operations to businesses nationwide, regardless of their size.
The breach was identified after an unauthorized party gained access to API's computer network and obtained sensitive consumer information, including:
- names,
- Social Security numbers,
- driver’s license numbers,
- passport numbers,
- financial account details.
API initiated an investigation, determining that the breach likely occurred on June 28, 2023. API has confirmed that confidential consumer information had been accessed and possibly acquired by the unauthorized party.
The attack has impacted around 71,000 individuals. Unfortunately, API has not disclosed any details about the attack.
As a response to this breach, API Financial Solutions started notifying individuals whose information was compromised, providing details on the specific data that had been exposed.
