Ardent Health hospital ERs offline in 6 states after ransomware attack

Learn More

Ardent Health Services experienced a ransomware cyberattack, leading to significant disruptions in their hospital emergency rooms across six states.

The healthcare provider, which operates 30 hospitals, was forced to shut down its network and IT applications, including critical software and servers, to manage the incident.

Emergency care services were rerouted to alternate hospitals, though Ardent's ERs maintained the capacity for immediate medical screening and stabilization. While clinics continued providing care, some elective procedures were deferred, with Ardent undertaking efforts to reschedule affected appointments.

The recovery timeline remains uncertain as Ardent's IT team strives to restore full functionality and ensure data integrity, with ongoing investigations to ascertain if patient data was breached.
