Hospital de Alta Complejidad El Cruce "Néstor Kirchner" (Hospital El Cruce) in Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, has suffered a significant ransomware attack by the Medusa ransomware group.

The incident resulted in the compromise of their IT networks and the theft of sensitive data. As part of their incident response, the hospital's IT department has taken the official website offline.

The attackers claim they designed their attack to avoid disrupting hospital operations, though they did encrypt some files. The hospital's website remains offline as of January 25, 2025.

The hackers claim to have stolen over 760GB and demand a ransom of $200,000 in Bitcoin by February 6, 2025

The full extent of the compromised data and the number of affected patients have not been publicly disclosed.
