Australian entertainment giant Funlab, which operates brands like Strike Bowling and Holey Moley, reports a cyberattack that occurred between September 20-22, 2024. The ransomware group Lynx claimed responsibility for the breach and listed Funlab on its leak site and shared images from Funlab’s internal systems.
The company confirmed that its IT systems were impacted during the incident but assured that customer data was not accessed.
Funlab notified relevant the Australian Signals Directorate's Australian Cyber Security Centre and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Operations were restored to normal within 48 hours after the attack, and Funlab has engaged external cybersecurity experts to continue investigating the matter.
Funlab claims that no customer data was compromised, but "a small number of current and former employees—in the low double digits"—had some limited information accessed.
The company noted that some of the exposed data was outdated due to expired information. Funlab has reached out to those affected, offering appropriate support.
