Bayhealth Hospital compromised by Rhysida ransomware gang

Learn More

Bayhealth Hospital, a healthcare provider in central and southern Delaware, is a victim of the ransomware gang Rhysida.

Bayhealth hospital system includes the Kent Campus in Dover, Sussex Campus in Milford, and an emergency center in Smyrna and offers inpatient and outpatient services, including birthing, cardiovascular care, cancer treatment, and 24-hour emergency services with Level III trauma centers.

The Rhysida Ransomware group claims to have infiltrated Bayhealth's systems and stolen sensitive data, including passports and ID cards. The group is demanding a ransom of 25 BTC to prevent the data from being publicly released. To prove their claim, they have leaked screenshots of the stolen documents on their Tor leak site. The group has given Bayhealth seven days to pay the ransom, threatening to auction off the data if the demand is not met.

No other details of the attack were disclosed and the incident is still not commented on by Bayhealth Hospital.
