Bayside Dental, a healthcare provider in Anacortes, Washington, reports a data breach following a ransomware attack. The organization detected unauthorized access to its network on January 5, 2026.
The Sinobi ransomware group claimed responsibility for the incident on January 21, 2026, claiming they stole 580 gigabytes of data, including patient records, contracts, and internal incident reports.
The investigation and manual document review, which concluded on March 13, 2026, confirmed that the threat actors accessed and stole files containing personal and medical information. The compromised data includes:
- Social Security numbers
- Full names and dates of birth
- Health insurance information and plan beneficiaries
- Medical treatment and diagnostic information
- Prescription information
- Patient numbers and dates of service
The number of affected individuals is 15,154.
The practice notified the New Hampshire Attorney General and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Affected individuals are being offered 12 months of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection.
