A Bengaluru-based company, Whiteboard Technologies Pvt Ltd, is reporting a ransomware attack, with cybercriminals demanding between $700 and $70,000 to release the encrypted data. The attack occurred on March 31, 2025, between 4:23 PM and 5:00 PM local time.

Whiteboard Technologies human resource executive, filed a police complaint on April 7 after confirming the details of the breach.

According to the complaint, unknown hackers infiltrated the company's database, placing files under encryption and stealing sensitive customer information and business data. The attackers have threatened to leak the stolen data if their ransom demands are not met.

The cybercriminals are communicating their threats via Telegram using the handle @Dmc_eze and through the email address encrpt@onionmail.org.

No details are disclosed about the impact on the operations of the company, any stolen data or number of affected individuals.

The authorities have alerted the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) about the attack.
