Internet Thailand (Inet) Plc reported on Wednesday that it experienced a ransomware attack on its hypervisor management system.

The attack involved a hacker obtaining an employee's credentials while working remotely

The Bangkok Post and hundreds of other internet service users fell victim to a ransomware attack, causing website inaccessibility.

Inet as the service provider, confirmed that no ransom was paid and most services would be fully restored by Wednesday midnight.

Inet reported that the attack on its hypervisor management system affected 300 out of its 2,500 clients, and while the restoration process was underway,

Inet assured customers that their data was secure and backup systems were in place.
