Data I/O Corporation, an electronics manufacturer serving major technology companies including Amazon, Apple, Google, and Microsoft, has been hit by a ransomware attack.

The company specializes in programming solutions for flash memory, microcontrollers, and flash memory-based intelligent devices, as well as secure element devices, authentication devices, and secure microcontrollers.

The ransomware attack has impacted Data I/O's core business functions. The attack "temporarily impacted the Company's operations, including internal/external communications, shipping, receiving, manufacturing production, and various other support functions". Data I/O  claims that it has restored some of its functions but others remain offline, with no timetable for a fix. 

No details are disclosed about exposed data or number of impacted individuals.
